Life is short and you deserve joy.

After working with authors on topics like Disneyland, 90’s films, Asian food, and cat cakes, I realized these people were onto something and that I needed to unleash my obsessive curiosities and love.

My past is full of interviews, collaborations and accomplishments, from Harvard and Berkeley to Pico Iyer and Radiolab’s Lulu Miller, Netflix stars, Sundance execs, producing for CNN, reporting for Fast Company and consulting for major publishers, and speaking at places like Aspen and Stanford.

We’ll still engage with serious content about the culture wars and what’s happening to our brains as a result of polarization and technology, but we’ll also spend time on calls hearing about everyday folks’ obsessive expertise, because learning new stuff is fascinating and information sharing is love.

Permission to Change is an events subscription, as well as a writing subscription, and it’s a place where serious and fun intermix. I write about our minds and childhood and family, identity politics, interfaith healing and the state of media and publishing and the spread of ideas today, but I also want to support you and others in sharing about random topics like sci-fi and Japanese desserts and manga and Viking history.
